The Larson Bull Battery

Herd Bulls: The herd bull battery at Larsons' consists of bulls that have the genetic merit and physical make-up to move the breed forward. Many of these bulls are used as AI sires in other herds around the world. Some of these bulls are former show ring champions, but they have to pull their weight as breeding bulls or they are not offered for AI sales and sent to town. It is because of this strict policy you can rest assured Larson herdsires will work for you.

AI Program: Here at Larsons' Polled Herefords we have a very aggressive AI program. AI sires are selected very methodically to compliment our cow herd. AI sires used in our program must be from a strong genetic heritage, have correct phenotype, and performance documentation reflected in their EPD values. With these requirements in place it is remembered as once said by my mentor "Ya' still have to look at them." Which means all the peripherals must match the animal.The use of AI also allows us to bring in cow families we feel will strengthen our program.
